God Will Be There To Meet You
Several months ago, I was talking with a woman whose husband was worried about the economy and its impact on them. They owned three houses (at least), two of which were being rented, so were not in danger of being in dire straits. But as I talked with the woman, she spoke words that have stuck with me, and were brought back to my mind as I noticed that one of their houses had shifted from “For Rent” to “For Sale.”
The words she said, in comfort to her worried husband were these: “God will be there to meet us.”
Those seem to be such wonderful words, and they bring us back to the commands of the Lord Jesus Himself. “Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).
Has there ever been a time when God did not meet you in your trials? Sure He has not always kept you safe from trials as you would like, but when you have entered into the trials, He has always been there to meet you.
There are many things to worry about—the economy, family, friends, work—but take the Lord’s word for it: the Heavenly Father knows what you need, even before you do (Matthew 6:32). So rest assured that the Lord will be there in those days of trial to meet you.
