A Baptismal Prayer
I have continually been amazed at how deep the faith of many of these men is. Talking down to them is the expectation. But as you will see from the piece written below by one of the men who was baptized, the richness of the depth of the Gospel is getting deep into the hearts of some of these men—even men who cannot write proper English. I have kept the grammar as is because I think it reflects this man's life in ways that polishing it up would not. Bear with it and you too will be blessed: "My Redeemer Prayer I think it goes on a few more lines, but this is all the photocopy he gave me.
Saving faith is based on the miraculous powerful life, transforming work of God in my life.
Faith is a gift of God.
A work from the Spirit of God.
God comes to me when I was spiritually dead, when I didn't even realize my condition, he open my eyes & He soften my heart & He gave me life from above.
God changed my heart.
Flesh gives flesh to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit.
My heart is cleansed.
Cleansed through the power of the Word in my heart.
He takes out the heart of stone & puts in a heart of flesh.
He wipes away my sins & He give me a new heart.
New desires & new love & all new affections. Because God has put His Spirit in me.
My eyes have been opened, my heart have been changed, I been cleansed from sin & the Spirit of God dwell in me & moves me & leads me.
I find my joy & satisfaction in Him & Him alone.
He has glorify His name.
God has transformed my life."
